Burnley began their Christmas campaign with a comfortable win over Liverpool at Turf Moor. These pictures show the Clarets’ two goals. TOP: McIlroy, although tackled and brought down by Moran, gets in a left-foot drive which flashed past Ashcroft for the first goal. LOWER PICTURE: Holden cleverly placed the ball past two defenders on the goal-line after Shannon had headed back to him in a duel with Ashcroft.
