The death of Arthur Berry

Mr. Arthur Berry, the Liverpool barrister and member of the firm of Edwin Berry and Company, solicitors, 21 Old Hall Street, Liverpool, died yesterday.

He was the son of the late Mr. Edwin Berry, founded of the firm. He was educated at Denstone College and Wadham College, Oxford, where he gained his degree of B.A. with honours in law. Later he was called to the Bar.

In his youth, Mr. Berry was well known as an Association footballer. He got his Blue for Oxford University and was “capped” a number of times for England, and subsequently toured with the FA eleven in South Africa.

He also played at outside right for Liverpool F.C. at a time when his father was chairman of the club. Later he played in the Everton side.

He leaves a widow.
