Liverpool, bottom of the First Division table, yesterday spent another £30,000 in securing the transfers of left-back Frank Lock and inside right John Evans from Charlton, manager Don Welsh’s former club.
Don, who only a few days ago paid about £20,000 for Dave Underwood (ex-Watford) and Geoff Twentyman (ex-Carlisle), completed the deal at Charlton while Liverpool were losing 5-2 to West Bromwich. Lock and Evans travelled to Liverpool yesterday and will play today in the return with West Brom.
