Liverpool F.C. make four changes, one of them positional, for to-morrow’s home game with West Ham United. Charles Ashcroft and Ray Lambert are dropped and return to the reserve side, with Underwood and Twentyman taking the places they occupied on Wednesday evening.
The latter’s move to centre half makes a vacancy at left half, where Don Campbell, a 21-years-old-Liverpool boy just out of the Forces, gets a chance. Campbell made two senior appearances last season. Laurie Hughes is still on the injured list, as also is Tony Rowley.
In the forward line Payne comes in for Brian Jackson, thus making his first senior appearance since March 6 last, against Huddersfield, but elsewhere the attack is unchanged, with Bimpson retained as leader.
