Aston Villa centre-forward Dave Hickson was transferred to Huddersfield last night, less than three months after joining them from Everton at a £22,000 fee.
Yesterday’s was a transfer without a preliminary whisper. Hickson did not ask for it. Villa’s shock decision to let him go was reached by a majority vote of the directors.
In his 12 matches for Villa Hickson scored only one goal. He was left out of last Saturday’s team at Charlton.
Huddersfield are bottom of the First Division. Hickson leads their attack in Saturday’s home game against West Bromwich Albion.
