For the Central League match against Derby County at Anfield Eric Anderson is provisionally named as outside right. Whether he turns out depends on a fitness test on Friday.
Anderson, chosen to play last week, had to cry off at the last minute following an examination by the club’s specialist. He had been so eager to get back into action after his leg injury two months ago that he overdid his training, and the reaction which followed has not been entirely cleared up.
Con Phillips, the 17-years-old former Liverpool Schoolboy and County FA winger, who made his Central League debut against Barnsley seven weeks ago is given another reserve outing.
If Anderson is not fit Phillips will move to outside right and Les Robson take over at outside left.
Liverpool Reserves: Doug Rudham, Tom McNulty, Gerry Byrne, Barry Wilkinson, Dick White, Alex South, Eric Anderson, Jimmy Melia, Louis Bimpson, Joe Dickson, Con Phillips.
