Dick White’s plucky display

November 30, 1955
Dick White, formerly of Scunthorpe, has recovered from the injury received at Newcastle last week. Although he had to go off and have three stitches put into a nasty cut on the forehead, he returned to the field and pluckily carried on at centre-half, still heading the ball when necessary.

Liverpool have arranged to play Bolton Wanderers at Anfield in the third round of the National Youth Cup competition on Wednesday, December 14, which makes a rather unusual offering for those who have their half-day holiday in mid-week. The Anfielders have already beaten Oldham and Leeds United in this tournament.
