Five men for transfer

December 14, 1955
Finding themselves with more players than required for certain positions, Liverpool have decided to part with five of their staff, and are circulating clubs inviting offers. The players concerned are Don Campbell, Derek Healy, Bill Parker, Les Robson and David Jones.

Campbell, who has made eight senior appearances in the past two years, is a former Bootle schoolboy who signed as a part-time professional in 1950, and completed his National Service just over two years ago.

Derek Healy, an inside forward, came on trial from Leyton Orient in August. He has scored four goals in nine Central League matches.

Parker was secured in April, 1953 from Burscough, but has not been able to command a place in the reserve side.

Les Robson, an outside left, joined the club fro Darlington last August and in 13 Central League matches has scored five goals.

David Jones is a part-time goalkeeper who was formerly with Doncaster Rovers.

Rather than keep these players until their contracts have expired, Liverpool are giving them an early chance to get fixed up elsewhere.

In all cases the fees will be more or less nominal.
