Tonight at Goodison Park, Liverpool, I expect to see Liverpool Schoolboys lift the English Schools Trophy. They play Brighton in the second leg of the final, having won the first game 3-2.
I shall be surprised if they do not win tonight’s match by a bigger margin in front of their own supporters.
Liverpool’s inside left Willie Carlin – fresh from his triumph with the England Schoolboys’ teams at Bristol last week – is the boy Brighton will have to watch.
His pin-point passing should lead to plenty of goal chances for the other forwards.
Brighton are sure to put up a good fight, but unless they get an early goal I can’t see them shaking these grand lads from Liverpool.
