Although Liverpool lost their opening game with Huddersfield Town, the directors were sufficient satisfied with the second-half display to keep the same eleven for the away game with Notts County to-morrow evening.
Earlier on there was a slight doubt about Younger, who received a shoulder injury on Saturday. But the Scottish international, like his compatriot Liddell, is very tough and soon recovered. Jackson is also fit after a knock on the ankle.
Though disappointing to Liverpool’s supporters that the Anfielders got no reward from their opening home game, they are hoping the team will make amends at Meadow Lane.
On Saturday’s showing Huddersfield, although fortunate to win, looked likely candidates for a strong promotion bid. Yet they came a cropper in Monday’s home game with Leicester City, which makes their Anfield victory still more flattering.
