Colchester United dug into their cash-box again last night and paid nearly £4,000 for John Evans, 28, Liverpool inside left. Thursday is Colchester’s big night for signings – last week they bought centre forward Neil Langman, from Plymouth for £6,000.
Evans, a Londonder who has played for Charlton, goes straight into the League side against Port Vale tomorrow.
