Liverpool’s trip to Hull must be a winning one if we are to maintain the slightest glimmer of hope for Liverpool’s chances of finishing in the top half dozen and so far as the fans are concerned a promotion miss is as good as a mile.
The Bill Shankly brand of training – quite a tough schedule for this time of the year- may pay dividends an if he could infuse some of his own enthusiasm into the side all might be well. He is notoriously a man not given to wrapping up his opinions.
Hull are just as anxious to get the points. Their forward showing in two matches against Villa over the holidays will have given them confidence and anyone who has ever seen the Hull tigers battling on their own ground will confirm that winning there is no easy thing.
Providing they recover from slight knocks veteran goalkeeper, Billy Bly, and full-back Andy Davidson will be in the Hull side.
Liverpool: Bert Slater, John Molyneux, Ronnie Moran, Johnny Wheeler, Dick White, Tommy Leishman, Jimmy Melia, Roger Hunt, Dave Hickson, Jimmy Harrower, Alan A’Court.
Hull: Billy Bly, Andy Davidson, Brian Bulless, Paul Feasey, Brian Garvey, Les Collinson, Doug Clarke, Jackie Sewell, Roy Shiner, Ralph Gubbins, Bill Bradbury.
