Tony Knapp, 22-year-old Leicester centre half, now has a choice of going to Southampton or Liverpool. Mr. Bill Shankly, the Liverpool manager, drove to Leicester to talk to Knapp yesterday and agreed to pay the £26,000 fee Leicester are asking.
Knapp will visit Liverpool next week before deciding. Earlier this week he talked over a possible move to Southampton with their manager, Mr. Ted Bates. Knapp is disappointed that no First Division club has made a bid for him. He may decide to stay with Leicester after all in the hope that one of the top-grade clubs will want him later in the year.
