Bill Shankly, the football manager who woved he would never tie himself to any club, has changed his mind and signed a five-year contract with Liverpool.
Bill who managed Liverpool so successfully since 1960, is now in the £4,000-plus-a-year bracket.
Shankly, the man who inspired Liverpool to promotion in 1962, never had a contract with either Carlisle United, Grimsby Town or Huddersfield Town, from which club he joined Liverpool in 1960.
