The Kop outselling The Beatles

Friday, July 23 – 1965
Ee Aye Addio – now it’s top of the pops! In the beat-crazy city of Liverpool, this week’s biggest selling record is a disc dedicated to the Cup-holders. The 26s L.P. “Ee Aye Addio,” which takes in “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” other Anfield anthems and Cup Final interviews and commentaries, is outselling every record – including the Beatles.

Says John Seddon, who produced the sound souvenir: “I’m staggered at he way it has sold.”
