David Crampton, 17-year-old Durham Press goalkeeper took a step into big time soccer yesterday when he played for Liverpool Reserves against Chesterfield. David, of Taylor Avenue, Bearpark, finished the game with a clean sheet, the Merseysiders winning 3-0 in this Central League game.
For the second half of this season David has played in goal for top-of-the-table Durham Press A team in the newly-formed Durham and District Sunday Football League. On Saturday’s he and his twin brother, Alan, who also plays for the Press play in the Ushaw Moor Junior side.
David recently spent a week at Liverpool having trials in the intermediate side.
