Easy for Liverpool boys

May 13, 1968
The Dimmer Cup and W.R. Williams Cup, which they won by beating Bootle Boys 4-0 in the annual challenge match at Anfield last night, are all Liverpool Boys have to show for their efforts this season.

Again last night they left 2,000 spectators wondering what else could have been won with a little more bite in attack, for although Bootle played well enough, mainly through the efforts of Kelley and McAuley, it was so easy for Liverpool.

Liverpool’s goals came through McNamara, Flood, Wilson and Connolly (own goal), and it was only a combination of their own casualness and some fine saves by Kavanagh in the Bootle goal which prevented them scoring many goals.
