Southport on Anfield to-night

Tuesday, May 14 – 1968
The final of the Liverpool Senior Cup is revived after a lapse of a few years with the game between Liverpool and Southport at Anfield tonight (7:30 p.m.).

Everton did not enter because of their Cup commitments so Liverpool were given a bye. Southport defeated Tranmere last week in the semi-final.

Liverpool will be fielding their usual reserve side, but it is expected that Southport will be able to play their full League side.

They beat Wigan 5-0 last night to clinch the Northern Floodlit League Cup and will be going all out for their second trophy in 24 hours.

Liverpool: Ray Clemence, Kevin Marsh, Martin Lucas, John Pyatt, Ian Ross, Roy Evans, David Wilson, Doug Livermore, Alf Arrowsmith, Peter Price, Bobby Graham. Substitute: Brian Hall.

Southport: Brian Reeves, Dave Pearson, Eric Curwen, Arthur Peat, Fred Molyneux, Ambrose Clarke, Alex Russell, Tony Field, Colin Alty, George Andrews, Eric Redrobe. Substitute: Alan Spence.
