For the first time since they put them on sale, Liverpool have been unable to sell all their ground season tickets before the big kick-off. Stand and paddock season tickets were sold out weeks ago but there are still hundreds of season tickets left for both the Kop and the Anfield Road end of the ground.
Liverpool first put ground season tickets on sale three years ago and they were an instant sell-out – so much so that they had to start a waiting list. So slow has the demand been this time that not only have Liverpool still got hundreds of unsold tickets, but they have also exhausted the waiting-list.
