An England XI will provide the opposition to Liverpool in Bill Shankly’s Testimonial match at Anfield later this year. England manager Don Revie, a long-standing friend of Mr. Shankly’s has agreed to bring an England squad to Liverpool for the match.
No definite date has yet been arranged but it is almost certain that the match will be played either in late April or early May following the Cup Final. The Liverpool board yesterday agreed to allow Anfield to be used for the match which is certain to attract a capacity attendance.
