Alan Kennedy, Newcastle’s under 23 full back, is on his way to Vienna this morning – discussing his transfer to Liverpool. Newcastle have agreed a fee – around £300,000 – but Kennedy is discussing his personal terms with Liverpool’s general secretary Peter Robinson on their flight to join Liverpool enjoying a pre-season tour of Austria.
Robinson will also meet Oldham officials at Manchester airport to complete the transfer on loan for a month of Liverpool reserve goalkeeper Peter McDonnell.
