Wolves finally got their man yesterday when Emlyn Hughes completed his slow motion move from Liverpool by signing a two-year contract. But assistant manager Richie Barker, delighted at landing the 31-year old England defender for a bargain £85,000, was quick to issue Hughes with his battle orders.
“Emlyn’s main job will be to point our team in the right direction,” said Barker. “Wolves have often looked like a ship without a skipper.”
