Gerard Houllier is still trying to lure Sol Campbell to Liverpool, as he prepares a £15 million bid for Chris Kirkland and Michael Ball. Liverpool officials met Campbell this week and are hopeful of pricing him away from the clutches of Barcelona and Arsenal.
Meanwhile Houllier is ready to step up his interest in Coventry goalkeeper Chris Kirkland and is also monitoring Ball#s situation at Everton.
The Liverpool boss was initially put off by Kirkland’s £7m price but is preparing a firm bid. Ball is unsettled at Everton and could follow Nick Barmby’s move across the city.
