Liverpool scored a capital victory over Newcastle United, and for the first time this season finished a game without a goal being recorded against them. Great satisfaction was expressed locally at the victory well won against formidable opposition.
The form displayed by the Anfielders came as a surprise, and proved clearly that the men at present upholding Liverpool’s reputation are quite clever enough to keep it out of the Second Division. More of the same quality of football which overthrew Newcastle will place Liverpool in a creditable position in the table.
