Ernest Blenkinsop transferred to Liverpool

One of the most important transfers of the season was that yesterday of Ernest Blenkinsop, the famous Sheffield Wednesday and England international full back, to Liverpool.

Formerly with Hull City, he came to be regarded as the best full back for England since the war, and has been an automatic choice for international honours during the past five years. He has played five times each against Ireland, Wales, and Scotland, twice each against Spain, Belgium and France, and once against Austria. Altogether he has taken part in 27 representative matches and possesses two League championship medals.
