Former senior player with Airdrie, Motherwell, Liverpool and Aberdeen, Mr. John McConnell, of 532 Glasgow Road, Wishaw, has died.
A contemporary of Andy Donaldson of Ashfield Juniors, Mr. McConnell was a painter to trade, being employed with Messrs. McCormack, Merry Street, Motherwell.
Sixty-four years of age, he is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. He was buried on Tuesday.
