A meeting of the council of the Liverpool Theatrical Football Gala was held yesterday, at the Bee Hotel, Mr. Lewis Peake presiding. It was announced that the Lord Mayor (Alderman Joseph Ball) had promised to become patron of the gala. Mr. W.W. Rutherford, M.P. was appointed president.
Preliminary arrangements were made in regard to the gala, and the council expressed the opinion that when the question of the allocation of the funds came to be decided they would give favourable consideration to the claims of the Navy League Training Home, Liscard.
