The death of Thomas Scott

May 12, 1908
The death occurred yesterday, at his parents’ residence, 36 Cliftonpark Avenue, Belfast, of Mr. Thomas McComb Scott, who was one of the finest Association football goalkeepers in Ireland.

The deceased, who was only 34 years of age, joined Cliftonville Olympic team as a youth, and represented Ireland in the junior eleven against Scotland in 1892. He appeared in senior football as goalkeeper for Cliftonville during the season 1893-94, and for many years was associated with that team, representing Ireland in various international matches.

He had also played for Partick Thistle, Glasgow. His death will be regretted by local followers of the game, and sympathy will be expressed for the bereaved family.
