A keenly contested game resulted from the meeting of these clubs at Anfield last night. Workington opened well, and in a few minutes Hemphill gave them the lead. Liverpool tried hard, and Hunter equalised, the interval the score being one goal each.
After the half-time, the Liverpool forwards showed good form, and Hunter put his side in front with a clever goal. These was a keen struggle afterwards, and though both Beeby and Colley made good saves, each side missed chances.
Liverpool has still a chance of the Championship, as it has yet to meet Oldham and Everton.
