Lol Abram transferred to Chelsea

May 30, 1914
Lol Abram, the left half-back of Heart of Midlothian, has been transferred to Chelsea.

The negotiations, which have been protracted, were concluded on Saturday afternoon.

It has been known for some time that Abram was to leave Tynecastle, and his name has been mentioned in connection with several English clubs. The fact that there was competition for his services occasioned delay in effecting the transfer.

Abram is an Englishman, and joined the Hearts as an outside left from Stockport over three years ago. In this position he performed for Hearts until the exigencies of team-building sent him into the mid line. Here he found what may be called his true position, for as a half back he developed until he is now among the best playing.

In securing Abram Chelsea are carrying out their intention of having a team which plays the Scottish game, and although Abram is an Englishman, he is a player of the Scottish school
