On Saturday next the National Warehouse and General Workers’ Union hold their athletic and sports carnival at the Tramway Athletic Grounds, Green Lane, at three o’clock. A special feature will be the 100 yards sprint, open only to footballers of the Liverpool, Everton, South Liverpool, and Tranmere Rovers Club.
The result of this race will settle a very much discussed question in Liverpool at the moment. One often hears the question, “I wonder what’s so and so’s time for the hundred?” Now you will have a chance of settling this question for yourself.
Amongst the players who have accepted the invitation to run up to date are Miller (Everton), Robert Pursell (Liverpool), Fred Pagnam (Liverpool), Thompson and Mitchell (both of Everton), Albert Pearson (Liverpool), John Page (Everton), Louis Page (late South Liverpool) and Robert Waine (late Liverpool).
