Football paid its tribute to the late Tom Maley yesterday. Chief mourners at the funeral were Mr. Willie Maley (the Celtic manager) and Mr. Alex Maley, brothers of the deceased, and the late Mr. Maley’s son, Charles, who is secretary of Bradford City, and two daughters.
The entire Celtic board of directors, headed by chairman Tom White, and the Celtic players attended, the coffin being carried to the graveside by the captain, James McGrory, and other members.
Several of the older generation who were players in Mr. Maley’s time attended amongst these being Messrs. Alex Hamilton (Queen’s Park), Andrew Hannah (Renton), W. McLeod (Cowlairs), and W. McIntyre (Rangers).
