Southport to-day signed their 20th professional, Reg Neal, an inside right or left, who was with Bristol City last season.

Neal was transferred to the Southern club by Liverpool, after spending two seasons at Anfield. He joined Liverpool at a fee from Altrincham, but started his professional career at 18 with Blackpool.

Bristol City placed Neal on the transfer list at a fee at the end of last season, but this was recently taken off by the League. Neal, who is a native of Winchester, is 23, stands 5ft. 10½ins. and weighs 11st.
