The death of Andrew Wilson

Andrew Wilson, former Clyde and Sheffield Wednesday centre-forward, has died in Irvine, Ayrshire. Wilson was at his best between 1907 and 1914, when he played for Scotland against England in 1907, 1908, 1912 and 1913, and also played against Ireland and Wales. He led the Wednesday attack when they won the English Cup in 1907.

He was not a relative of the other Andrew Wilson (Andy) of Middlesbrough, Chelsea and Dunfermline Athletic, who was also centre-forward for Scotland in the 1920s.
