Another former Liverpool goalkeeper back at Anfield to-day was Ray Minshull, who has just been appointed F.A. coach for the North West Region. He has taken over from Tony Waiters, a former goalkeeper with Blackpool.
Ray joined Liverpool in September 1946 and stayed at Anfield until he was transferred to Southport in the summer of 1951. Unfortunately for him he was understudy to Cyril Sidlow and his League appearances were, therefore, limited to 28, during his five years at Anfield.
A number of coaches were on a course at Liverpool University this week, Ray among them, and they were all at Anfield to-day, watching Liverpool’s Cup-tie with Doncaster.
