Monday, October 23 – 1882
A Football Club for Nelson. – On Monday evening last, a meeting of the members of Nelson Cricket Club was held in the Victoria Hall, to discuss the desirability of forming a football club. Mr. John Greenwood presided, and it was decided that a football club be formed, and about 25 members were enrolled. The first game takes place today (Saturday).

Saturday, November 11 – 1882
Nelson (Teams). – A football match was played in connection with the Nelson Football Club, on Saturday, between two teams chosen from the members thereof, and styled Probables v. Improbables, when Probables score three goals to Improbables nil. The club has only been recently formed.

Wednesday, September 24 – 1884
Nelson Football Club. – A meeting of the members and intending members of the above club was held on Wednesday evening, at the Oddsfellow Arms, Leeds-road, Nelson. It was stated that the difficulty in obtaining a field had been overcome, one situate in Newtown, belonging to Mr. Archer, and the same in which the flower show was held, having been obtained.

The officers were elected for the coming season and several new members entered.

1885.

The second team will be engaged with the second teams of the above clubs on the same dates, with the following exceptions: – September 20, October 4, October 25, November 1, January 10, January 17, February 14, March 7, March 14, and April 11.

No matches have been arranged for these dates. The delay in publishing the fixtures of this club has been caused by the difficulty experienced in securing a field.
