Season preview 1927-28: Ashington F.C. (The Athletic News)

August 1, 1927
The needs of the “furthest north” club in the Third Division have never been so far from satisfied at this period of the year as they are now, fewer signings being reported. Neither the senior or reserve sides is anything like complete.

John Elliott, Molloy, Joe Dalkin, Jimmy Clark, Ted Ward, and Bill Laverick were not re-engaged.

Of those retained Ralph Ridley, Greaves, and George Johnson have not yet re-signed, but are expected to sign.

Dalkin has signed for Preston Colliery, in the North Eastern League.
