Torquay United, who recently transferred their right winger Ralph Birkett to the Arsenal, are to lose two more players, Jack Tennant (right back) and Alf Gray (left half) having been transferred to Liverpool.
The Liverpool Club has maintained a close watch on several Torquay United players for some time past, and it is understood that a condition of the agreement is that Liverpool play at Plainmoor in the early part of next season.
Tennant is 24 years of age and came to Torquay on loan from Stoke, while Gray is 22 and came from Oldham.
The sum involved is not disclosed, but it is said to be very substantial.
