Alex Raisbeck and Bath City FC

September 9, 1939
There will be no football at Twerton Park on Saturday. The Southern League has notified all clubs in the competition that football is cancelled until further notice.

All Bath City players have returned to their homes, but the directors are keeping in touch with them. Mr. Alex Raisbeck, the secretary-manager, went back to his home in Liverpool to-day. Before he left he told me: “We are all hoping that the war will not last long and that football will soon be back into its own again. What is in front of us is on the lap of the gods, but there is a certain amount of optimism in football circles that football will take place this season.”
