Lunch makes them all happy

Bristol Rovers started to give their players lunch at Eastville to keep them away from ticket hunters during the club’s great Cup run two years’ ago. The club are continuing with the idea and Mrs. Clara Macstead and Mrs. Gladys Dean play “Mum” to the Rovers after training. “We now know what each player likes and dislikes,” says Mrs. Macstead. “It was a problem at first, but everyone is happy now.
Manager Bert Tann joins his players for lunch. “It is a fine opportunity to talk over tactics and training routines,” he told Jack Wood, “and we’re sure the boys get the right sort of food.
