Fred Pagnam, former Arsenal centre forward, has died at Samlesbury, near Preston, aged 70. Arsenal signed him from Liverpool in 1919 for the then large fee of £1,500. He was also with Blackpool, Southport, Huddersfield, Cardiff and Watford.
