Ray Clemence transferred to Liverpool

Liverpool have signed 19-year-old Scunthorpe goalkeeper Ray Clemence for £20,000. Said Liverpool manager Bill Shankly: “He is the most promising young goalkeeper I have seen.”

A goalkeeper left Liverpool, too, yesterday. William Molyneux joined Oldham on a free transfer.
