Wednesday, November 21 – 1888
A meeting of delegates from all the clubs forming the Football League was held at the Grand Hotel, Birmingham, on Wednesday evening. The meeting considered the question of the League championship, and decided that at the end of the season the club having the greatest number of points shall be first on the list. Two points will be counted for a win, and one for a draw, losses not counting at all. In compliance with the unanimous wish of the meeting, Mr. McGregor decided to continue in office as chairman of the League.
