Railway extension in Liverpool

January 8, 1892
Yesterday General Hutchinson inspected, on behalf of the Board of Trade, the extension of the Mersey Railway to the bottom of Bold-street, Liverpool, and found everything satisfactory. The opening by the Mayor of Liverpool, will take place next Monday. At one o’clock at noon his Worship and a party of invited guests will proceed from Bold-street, Liverpool, to Rock Ferry and back, after which the event will be celebrated by luncheon at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool. By this extension the Mersey Railway will be in close communication with all the lines entering the Central Station, Liverpool-Midland, Great Northern, and Manchester, Sheffield, and Lincolnshire.
