John Houlding elected president of Liverpool F.C.

That the newly formed Liverpool Association Football Club will be duly affiliated by the Football Council is now virtually settled. Information in my own possession leaves no room for doubt on that point. All that the members of the Council require is evidence of the existence of a genuine club, and that will be forthcoming at their next meeting.

During the past week Mr John Houlding has been elected president of the new club, Mr Edwin Berry chairman, Mr William Barclay secretary, and Mr Richard H. Webster treasurer.

Arrangements have also been made to secure Mr Orrell’s land, and in that event the position of the goal posts will be changed so as to remove the spectators a little further from the field of play.

With regard to the all important question of players, I may say that the experience of the past week has plainly shown that no difficulty will be experienced in that respect. Indeed, the difficulty will be to chose between the hosts of applications already sent in.
