At the annual meeting of the Darwen Football Club last night, the secretary reported a loss on the season of over £300, the total debt being over £600. The loss was caused by the prolonged dispute in the cotton trade, and by the many friendly matches played, every few of which had covered expenses. The team’s record would bear favourable comparison with that of any team in Lancashire. The report was adopted, and officers appointed.
