The games in the Palatine League, so far as the Northern Division are concerned, are now all rubbed off, while in the Southern there are still three games to be decided. Burnley and Bury will play off the championship game on Saturday next. The present record is as follows: –

(Lancashire Evening Post, 25-04-1894)
Burnley, Preston North End, Darwen, Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool, Bury, Everton, Bolton Wanderers, Newton Heath, Accrington.
Hi, I am doing some research on Everton’s early games, and have come across the Palatine League played in 1893-94. I can see from your and Bluecorrespondent’s pages that games were played but not much on why it was put together when so many league and friendly games were played at this time. Do you have any more info please?
