Liverpool school-boys at Anfield

Saturday, May 9 – 1896
A school football match between the Liverpool Boys and the Sheffield boys took place at Anfield on Saturday, on the ground of the Liverpool F.C. The weather was gloriously fine, and a fair number of spectators assembled. The Sheffield Boys won the match 3-1.

  1. Maybe interesting also to notice that two of the players for Sheffield boys were named Wadsworth and Foxall. I have no idea if these were the later LFC players, or related to them.
