Young McCowie, who has been signed this week for the Anfield Road men, has yet to win his spurs, but he has already made his mark in Scottish Junior football, and as he is very youthful he will have time to develop. Mr Tom Watson always holds that the secret of the success of Sunderland in the first series of successful years lay in the fact that their men had been picked whilst young. He seems to be following the same policy in Liverpool, and to be receiving the same financial backing.
