Alderman John Houlding is a persona grata in Masonic circles. He has frequently held high office in the craft, and his honours are to be increased on Wednesday, the 13th prox., when, at the annual meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of West Lancashire, to be held in the Cambridge Hall, Southport, he will have conferred upon him the rank of Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden.
Bro. Houlding, it might be said, has never yet occupied the chair in the Mark degree, but he has recently been elected W.M.M. of the Walton Mark Lodge, No. 161 on the roll of the Grand Mark Lodge of England, and will be duly installed in November next.
